Description
Nos. 30 and 32 Eye Road is a former farmhouse that has been converted into two cottages. It dates from the 17th century, with possibly earlier origins. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof, and stands two storeys tall. It has a three-cell layout, with No. 32 representing the right-hand service cell. The exterior features three windows, which are small-paned casements from the 19th and 20th centuries. There is a mid-20th century half-glazed door for No. 30 and a plank door for No. 32. The building has an internal stack with a rebuilt shaft and a gable stack on the right side. No. 30 has been modernised internally, showcasing plain joists in the ground floor rooms and some framing, with evidence of diamond-mullioned windows. The interior of No. 32 has not been examined.
