Description
Nos. 37 and 39 Fen End is a cottage that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the early to mid-17th century and was likely subdivided in the 19th century. The building is timber framed and has a pebbledash render, with a white-painted brick casing on the front wall. It features a steeply pitched roof that is now covered with asbestos. The layout is a single range plan with a doorway at the low end of the central bay, and there is a later doorway added for No. 37. The cottage is one storey high with an attic and has three dormers that contain 19th-century horizontal sliding sash windows. No. 39 has two 20th-century windows that replaced the originals, while there is a 19th-century recessed horizontal sliding sash window on the left side. The interior has not been seen.
