Description
Heale Cottage is a house consisting of two sections. The main part on the left is a single-cell block dating from the early to mid 17th century, while the section on the right has been significantly altered and is likely from a later period. There are also additions from the mid 20th century. The cottage is timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof. It has one and a half storeys on the left and a single storey on the right. The mid 20th century casement windows include square-leaded designs with rounded heads on the upper lights for the ground floor of the main section. To the right, there is a gabled porch featuring a mid 20th century side door. A 17th century gable stack with a rendered shaft is present, and the interior retains intact 17th century studding, with the first floor structure featuring an axial bridging beam and fairly small square joists.
