Description
No 127 on Fore Street is a 17th-century timber-framed house that was refronted in red brick during the late 18th century or early 19th century. The building features a parapet and a moulded brick cornice. It has two storeys and cellars, with a three-window range of double-hung sashes that lack glazing bars and are set in plain reveals. The ground floor includes a 20th-century shop front. Originally, the house likely consisted of a two-bay hall with a cross-entry at one end and a service room adjacent to it. At the rear, there are two gabled wings that contain ornamental plaster ceilings in the upper rooms. This property is part of a group that includes Nos 119 to 129 (odd) Fore Street and Nos 77 to 83 (odd) Grimwade Street.
