Description
2 St Margaret's Plain is a listed building with historical significance. It features two rear blocks located to the south-west, facing Old Foundry Road. The westernmost block is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered structure that stands two storeys tall. The upper storey showcases exposed timber framing and was likely originally jettied, while the ground storey has been extended with a 20th-century shop front on the south side. This block has a two-window range with double-hung sashes, one of which includes glazing bars, and is topped with a tiled roof.
Adjoining to the east is another timber-framed and plastered building, which displays 18th-century external features. This structure also has two storeys and features a single-window range with double-hung sashes that include glazing bars in the first-storey window. It has a tiled roof adorned with a modillion wood eaves cornice.
