Description
12 and 14 Burlington Road are a pair of mid to late 19th century red brick houses featuring white brick rusticated quoins and a central dividing strip. The building consists of a central square block with side wings at the north-east and south-west ends. The central block is three storeys tall with basements, while the wings are two storeys high. The facade has a 2:2:2 window arrangement, with double-hung sash windows that have glazing bars, set in stucco shouldered architraves. The ground and first storey windows on the central block have cornices. The entrance doors are six-panel designs with semi-circular fanlights and stucco arches, topped by a semi-circular headed window. Both the doorway and the window above are slightly recessed. The roofs are slate, hipped on the central block with a wood modillion eaves cornice, and feature a moulded wood eaves cornice on the side wings.
