Description
Burlington Baptist Church Hall is an attractive mid-19th century red brick building featuring grey brick quoins and dressings, topped with a modillion pediment at the front. It is a single-storey structure with a two-window range on the front and a five-window range on each side. The tall metal casements have glazing bars and are set within grey brick shouldered architraves that include keystones. The central section of the building is slightly recessed and is accentuated by brick quoins and modillions beneath the frieze. A central eight-panel double door is located within a semi-circular arch, which has a moulded brick intrados and keystone, and is slightly recessed behind a projecting pedimented stucco Tuscan porch with plain columns. The front pediment features a central cartouche inscribed "Burlington Sunday School 1860." The roof is slate and includes a modillion cornice. Burlington Baptist Church Hall and No 2 (The Girls Friendly Society Hostel) are part of a group.
