Description

No. 1 Market Place is an early 17th-century building that stands two storeys tall. It features a timber frame with plastered walls and a roof covered in plain tiles, resting on a brick plinth. The first floor has three multi-light casement windows with glazing bars. The modern 19th-century shop fronts below have consoles supporting a flat cornice and include two entrances. There is an additional display casement on the right side. The building has a slightly overhanging first floor on the return, showcasing exposed timber framing and a gable. No. 1 Market Place is part of a group that includes Nos. 1 to 10 (consecutive), St Keyne, and The Social Club.
