Description
The King's Arms is an early 18th-century public house located at No. 42 on the west side of Thoroughfare. It is a two-storey building with an attic and features three pedimented dormers. The structure is constructed of brick, with stucco that mimics ashlar stonework. It has a plinth and is topped with glazed pantiles. A wooden cornice with ball-shaped dentils adorns the top of the building.
On the first floor, there are five sash windows that include glazing bars and flush frames. The entrance features a six-panel door with panelled linings, channelled pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice with ball dentils. The King's Arms is part of a group that includes Nos 25 to 29 Market Place.
