Description
Nos. 34 and 35 Thoroughfare are early 18th century buildings that stand two stories high and have cellars. They are constructed of red brick and topped with slate roofs. The buildings feature a moulded brick ogee bracket cornice and a parapet, along with a stone coping band at the first floor level. The first floor has ten sash windows with glazing bars, flush frames, and flat arches.
No. 34 has a six-panel door with an arched radial bar fanlight, framed by a wooden Doric case with an open pediment. No. 35 also features a six-panel door, but with a reeded solid frame and an arched radial bar fanlight set in a 4.5-inch brick recess.
These buildings are part of a group that includes The Angel Hotel, which consists of Nos. 34, 35, and 36.
