Description

No. 38 Thoroughfare is a late 16th century building that stands two storeys high with an attic. It features a gable end window and is constructed with a timber frame, partially plastered. The roof is tiled and has an ogre bracket cornice. The facade includes two windows: a modern door with a gabled hood, a three-light mullion transom casement on the left, and a 19th century three-light sash bay window on the right. An interior beam with folly moulding suggests the building's early date. No. 38, along with the White Lion, forms a group with Nos. 1 and 2 London Road.
