Description

The White Lion is a 16th-century building that stands two storeys high, featuring a combination of timber framing and plaster. The roof has been partially re-tiled with plain tiles, while the remaining sections are finished in red brick and machine-made pantiles. The façade includes a three-light casement window and a door on the left side, along with two additional casement windows on the right. Inside, the ceilings are supported by oak beams and joists. Historical records indicate that the establishment was known as 'Ye Lyone Inne' in 1590. The White Lion, along with No 38, is part of a group that includes Nos 1 and 2 London Road.
