Description
Pond Farmhouse is a farmhouse with its right-hand end dating from the 15th or early 16th century. In the later 16th or 17th century, the main range was raised by about 0.8 meters and extended. The building has an L-shaped plan, with a dairy range set forward to the right side. It is timber framed, roughcast rendered, and has a pantiled roof. The farmhouse is two storeys high and consists of a three-cell main range. It features 19th and 20th-century casement windows and a 19th-century four-panel door located within an open porch at the corner of the two ranges. At the rear, there is a lobby entrance with a six-panel door. Each range has an internal stack. The main range displays some exposed framing and joists, newel stairs, and some 17th-century floorboarding. The fireplace in the centre cell incorporates re-used stonework, including a cusped window head. The interior of the dairy wing has exposed timbering, though it has been somewhat altered.
