Description

Grange Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the 16th century on the left side and has a taller 17th-century range on the right, built in two phases. It features a timber frame with mid-20th-century textured render. The roof is primarily covered with double Roman tiles, while the front slope of the main range has black pantiles. The building is two storeys high, with some parts having attics.

The main range includes five windows, which are mostly mid-20th-century 3-light casements, and has a gabled porch with a mid-20th-century entrance door. A shaped brick gable end that faced the road has been removed, and the stack in this position has been rebuilt. The 16th-century range has smaller casement windows and a stack at the junction with the later part of the house.

At the rear, there is a small 17th-century dairy wing, where the first-floor frame is visible from the inside. The original 17th-century range consisted of a single chamber, which was later expanded with a straight stair and an end parlour. All rooms feature ovolo-moulded bridging beams, and the later rooms have similarly-moulded end cornices. On the upper floor, there is a rebuilt (blocked) mullioned window and some exposed studding. The original attic stairs and entrance door remain. The 16th-century range has undergone significant alterations.
