Description
The White House is a former farmhouse with origins dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries, featuring an 18th-century facade. The building has a timber-framed core that is encased in colourwashed brick, topped with a pantiled roof that has glazed black tiles at the front. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has three windows that are flush-frame sashes with glazing bars. Flanking the central entrance are full-height, three-light canted bays, and above the doorway is a tripartite window. There are also two large-paned sash windows positioned asymmetrically on the facade. The central doorway features a half-glazed door, flanked by panelled pilasters, with a frieze and a modillion cornice above. The roof includes three flat-roofed dormers. Inside, there is an internal stack with a plain rectangular shaft and a rebuilt gable stack to the right, along with single-storey flanking additions. Some of the earlier timber-framed structure is visible within the interior.
