Description

Gables Farmhouse is a late 16th-century farmhouse with 19th and mid-20th century additions to the north. It is constructed of timber framing, largely plastered with some colourwashed brick, and has a pantiled roof. The farmhouse comprises three cells across its width. It has two storeys and an attic. The windows are various casement types; a 19th-century four-panel entrance door, with the upper two panels glazed and a gabled hood, is situated on the north side. There is an internal stack. Some of the timber frame is visible at first-floor level, revealing evidence of diamond-mullioned windows. A newel staircase is present within the building. The roof features a single row of butt purlins.
