Description

The Former Workhouse Chapel, built in 1865-66 by G.E. Street, is now used as a farm store. It was originally part of the Wangford Hundred workhouse and is constructed of red brick with a plain tiled roof featuring crest tiles, designed in the Gothic style. The building has a single roof that covers both the nave and the apsidal chancel, with the junction marked by a fleche on the roof and a brick buttress on each side wall. The nave features a range of three coupled lancet windows with a circular window above, while the apsidal end has three lancet windows. At the west end, there is an open lean-to porch and a three-light window. The interior has plain red brick walls.
