Description
White House Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 16th century, with some modernization in the 19th century. It is constructed from timber framing and plaster, topped with a slated roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring four windows that are 18th-century three-light casements, most of which have square-leaded panes. Three of the ground floor windows are fitted with paired boarded shutters. The 19th-century doorway includes a six-panel door, a panelled wooden architrave with roundels, and a flat-roofed porch supported by slender wooden columns. Inside, there is an internal stack that was rebuilt in the 19th century, along with a later stack made of white brick that is positioned forward of the roof ridge on the right side. At the rear of the service end, there is a 17th-century addition that contains an original diamond-mullioned ground floor window, with much of the frame still visible inside. The main range has little exposed timbering, and the roof has been replaced in the 19th century.
