Description
17 and 19 Wellclose Square is a mid-19th century building that serves as a shop (No. 17) and a house (No. 19). It is two storeys high and constructed of white brick with a slate roof, featuring flat pilasters and a plain parapet. The shop front at No. 17 has double-fronted windows and an ornate fascia. The upper storey has two small-paned sash windows set in deep reveals with moulded lintels. No. 19 has three similar windows, along with a recessed central door that has six sunk panels and a rectangular fanlight adorned with traceried ovals. The door is framed by flat pilasters and a heavy architrave. This building is noted as an example of mid-19th century architecture in Framlingham.
