Description
Nos. 45 and 47 Long Street is a house that has been converted into shops, dated 1827, with 19th-century alterations and additions to the rear. The building is constructed of Flemish bond brick and features a moulded rendered cornice. It has a plain-tile roof with brick end stacks and is designed in an L-plan, with a lean-to and a wing at the back of No. 47. The structure stands three storeys high and has a three-window range. The central half-glazed door is topped with an overlight featuring latticed glazing and is framed by a moulded wood doorcase with reeded pilasters and a cornice. To the left, there is a large mid to late 19th-century shop front with glazed doors, reeded pilasters, and a cornice supported by brackets. Above this is a late 19th-century canted bay window with a four-pane sash. To the right, there is a mid-19th-century shop window that includes moulded wood pilasters and an entablature. The first and lower second floors have plate glass sashes, and the rusticated rendered flat arches are adorned with moulded keyblocks. The interior has not been inspected.
