Description
No. 10 Church Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and restaurant. It dates from the early 19th century, with a 18th-century range at the left rear. The exterior features scored imitation ashlar render and a moulded cornice, topped by a plain-tile roof with no visible chimneys. The building is U-shaped with wings at the rear and stands three storeys tall with a three-window range. The symmetrical front includes a doorway with a rusticated rendered round arch and a 20th-century panelled door set in a reduced opening. The ground floor has plate glass windows in wide original openings, while the first floor features sash windows with moulded frames. The second floor has a central blind six-pane sash and two six-pane fixed windows. All openings are topped with rusticated rendered flat arches. The rear range is constructed of whitewashed brick and includes a string course. Inside, there is a notable stop-chamfered ceiling beam.
