Description
The service range located immediately south west of Walnut Tree Farmhouse is a detached structure, likely dating from the 17th century, though it has undergone significant rebuilding. Originally timber framed, it has mostly been reconstructed in red brick, with the exception of the south gable, which remains plastered. The building features a pantiled roof and is one and a half storeys tall, arranged in a two-cell form. On the eastern side, which faces the farmhouse, there are two windows (one of which is slatted) and a boarded door. A gable end stack is present on the north side, possibly added later. Much of the original roof structure appears to be intact, showcasing clasped purlins and arched wind-bracing. The stairs are likely original as well.
