Description
The Queen's Head Inn is a public house with origins dating back to the 15th or early 16th century, featuring later additions at both ends. It is primarily timber framed, mostly covered in colourwashed brick, with the left gable end plastered. The building has a thatched roof and is one and a half storeys high. It includes three 19th-century three-light casement windows with diagonal glazing bars set under segmental arches, two boarded doors, and two catslide dormers. There is an internal stack, and to the right, a parapet gable end, likely from the late 17th century, although the upper part has been rebuilt. The rear features a colourwashed brick range. Evidence of the earlier core can be seen in the rear wall, which shows heavy arched-bracing that extends through the current floor level. Inside the bar area on the ground floor, there are exposed flat joists, with those to the left of the entrance being heavier and likely from the 16th century.
