Description

Rose Glen and Railway Terrace is a former hall house dating from the 15th or early 16th century, which was later encased in red brick and subdivided into two cottages in the late 19th century. A date stone reading 'Railway Terrace 1881' is visible on the facade. The building has a pantiled roof. It is two storeys high with a three-window front. It features large-pane sash windows in flush frames, each with a segmental arch above. There are two doorways, both now with mid-20th century doors, and gable end stacks. The interior retains exposed timberwork. In the left-hand cottage is an arched doorway leading to the original service end of the house, and a ground-floor ceiling beam with crenellated decoration. The right-hand cottage contains an original crown post roof, with a rebated section to the crown post.
