Description

The Game Larder, located 10 meters northwest of Park Cottage, is a building from around 1850 that served the Somerleyton Hall Estate. It features roughcast render on brick with applied timbering and has a hipped thatched roof, showcasing a picturesque style. The structure is rectangular in shape and consists of a single storey. It has windows on three sides fitted with close metal mesh and ventilating louvres positioned below the eaves. The entrance is through a boarded door. This game larder is a notable example of a purpose-built estate structure, which was still in use at the time of the survey. It is part of the planned estate development designed by John Thomas for Sir Morton Peto.
