Description

The building is a barn, with a small stable attached to the north, dating from the late 16th century. It is timber-framed, featuring 20th-century weatherboarding and a red brick gable end on the south side, topped with a corrugated asbestos roof. The frame consists of three bays with full height scuds, some of which have replacement framing. There is a later porch that projects from the middle bay on the west side. The tie-beams have bolted knees that replace the original long arched braces. The roof also has three bays that correspond to the wall bays, with diminished principals, one row of unstepped butt purlins, and one row of clasped purlins, along with reversed windbraces.
