Description

Perry Cottage, along with Perry Acres and Perry Acres Cottage, is a former farmhouse dating to the late 16th or early 17th century, likely incorporating earlier fabric, with an extension added in the late 18th or 19th century. It is a long, single-range building constructed with timber framing and plaster, and covered by a pantiled roof. The two cottages on the left have attics. The building has two storeys. Windows are mostly 20th-century casements, though the centre cottage retains 19th-century casements. The end cottages have 20th-century boarded doors, while the centre cottage has a 19th-century boarded door. Internal and gable end stacks are present. The interior of Perry Acres reveals exposed timbering. Two blocked 6-light diamond mullion windows are visible at first-floor level; a newel staircase is within the centre cottage. Much of the original house’s first-floor joisting has been renewed.
