Description

Milestone located 10 metres south west of Craig House, dating from the early 19th century. It has a wedge shape in section, with the outer inscribed face curved and stands about one metre tall. The inscription reads 'FROM LONDON 93 miles to HEVENINGHAM HALL 5'. There are two lead-filled cavities, which may suggest that the stone was also used as a tethering post for horses.
