Description
Hope House is a house that likely dates from the 16th century at the rear, with an early 18th century front range. It features a timber-framed core at the back, while the front is constructed of red brick with a colourwashed facade and a plain tiled roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a five-window range, consisting of sashes with glazing bars set in flush frames, without arches. It has a moulded brick plinth, a plaster cove cornice, and three flat-roofed dormers, along with gable end stacks. The central doorway has a six-panel door, with the upper four panels being glazed. It is adorned with a portico supported by fluted Roman Doric columns, Tuscan pilasters, and an entablature. The Dutch gable ends each feature three brick bands.
