Description

Caxtons is a building dating from the 16th century, originally two cottages that later became a beer house and is now a single dwelling. It has a T-shaped plan and is timber framed with plastered panels. The roof features modern plain tiles, with older plain tiles at the rear. The building is single storey with an attic and has a two-window range with four-light casements. There are central paired doorways with two-panel doors and a small segmental-headed staircase window. The roof has two gabled dormers and an internal stack with panelled sides. The left-hand gable includes three cross windows, two of which have square leaded panes. The rear wing has an original red brick gable end and three dormers.
