Description

Smithy Cottages is a row of three cottages that were formerly one house, dating from the 17th century. The cottages are timber framed, finished with colourwashed render, and originally had a thatched roof, which has since been replaced with pantiles. They are two storeys high.

On the entrance front, there are two doorways positioned to the right of the centre and one doorway at the far left. To the left of centre, there is a 4-light window, a 2-light window, and a small single-light window. To the right of the paired doors, there are two 2-light windows. The first floor features four 19th-century three-light casements. There is a lean-to structure at the far left.

At the rear, there is a plank door at the far right and two half-glazed doors at the far left, along with a mix of 19th and 20th-century windows. A large chimney stack is located at the ridge to the left of centre, and there is a 3-flue cross-axial stack at the right.

Inside, the ground floor has chamfered ceiling beams and close studded walling.
