Description
Kiln Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It features a timber frame with a brick exterior and a half-hipped pantile roof. The building is single storey with an attic. The entrance front was refaced in the mid 19th century and has a central front door with a Tudor hood mould. On either side of the door are two bays with 2-light casement windows, each having similar hood moulds. The attic includes three 2-light raking dormers, and there is a single-flue stack at the ridge on the right. Lean-to single-storey wings with hipped roofs are located at either end. The rear of the farmhouse has an extensive outshut with random fenestration and a central raking dormer with two lights. Inside, there are chamfered ceiling beams with plain joists, along with remnants of a screens passage and service rooms that lead off it.
