Description

White Cottage is a house dating from the 15th or early 16th century, with a small later wing added to the southeast. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a pantiled roof. The building is a single storey with an attic. It features various 19th and 20th century casement windows, including one gabled dormer on the south side. To the north, the roof extends over a 20th century lean-to extension that has an inset doorway and a gabled dormer above it. Inside, there is an internal stack and a small external stack on the north side. The interior has been significantly modernised, but some exposed joists and framing remain, and the rafters show heavy smoke blackening. The service end of the house appears to have been located to the north.
