Description
Sandpit Farmhouse is a mid 18th century farmhouse, rebuilt from an earlier structure, likely due to a fire. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped plaintiled roof, with slates on the lower courses and some pantiles on the rear wing. The building has two storeys and includes six windows, which are a mix of two-light and three-light mullion and transom casements. There are two doorways: on the left side, there is a six-panel fielded door with a broad architrave, and on the right side, a four-panel door. The left doorway and the two windows on either side are adorned with flat gauged brick arches that have raised keys. To the left of the right doorway, there is a blocked doorway with a similar arch. A brick band runs along the first floor level, and there is a moulded brick eaves cornice. Inside, there are two internal stacks. The roof over the short rear wing at the right end dates back to the 16th century but appears to have been damaged by fire.
