Description
Leathersley Farm House is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century and mid 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with sandstone dressings and features a plain tile roof. The roof has stone coped gables with moulded kneelers on the late 17th century section and a brick coped gable with plain kneelers on the mid 18th century section. The building has two brick gable stacks and one stack located in the pitch of the roof. There are brick bands at the first and second floors.
The south elevation is symmetrical with four bays and has a central doorway that features massive chamfered stone jambs and a lintel. The doorway is fitted with a 19th-century half-glazed door. On either side of the doorway, there are two 2-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows, although the mullions have been removed. Above, there are four similar windows, with the outer ones still retaining their mullions. The roof includes one dormer with a hipped roof. To the left, there is a mid-18th century wing that is set back, featuring a single light and a 3-light wooden casement window under a flat arch on the ground floor.
