Description
A terrace of four cottages, built in the late 18th century in two phases. The cottages are constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof and have two brick gable stacks and five ridge stacks. The north elevation, ten bays wide, is divided into two symmetrical sections.
The earlier part of the terrace, comprising numbers 4 and 5, is six bays wide. A doorway to the left leads to a side passage and features a round-arched opening with a plank door. To the right is a three-light wooden casement window with leaded lights under a segment head, followed by a doorway with a segment head and a plank door. Further along are two similar windows, a doorway with a panelled door and overlight, and a further window. A two-light window with a segment head now occupies the position of a former doorway. The first floor has four three-light casement windows under segment heads, and small lunette windows in the outer bays. Only four of the ground floor windows have segment-headed lights.
The left-hand part of the terrace, numbers 2 and 3, has two doorways with segment heads; one has a plank door and the other a panelled door. These doorways are flanked on each side by three-light wooden casement windows under segment heads. Four similar windows are located above.
