Description
Nos. 84 and 85 on Main Road are a pair of cottages built around 1845. They are constructed of red brick and feature a fishscale tile roof. The cottages have brick gable stacks and two ridge stacks, all with paired diamond plan shafts. The gables are brick coped with plain kneelers. The buildings are single storey plus attics and have a symmetrical three-bay south elevation, with the centre bay being gabled and slightly advanced.
The cottages have a recessed double entrance porch with a chamfered Tudor arch and a hoodmould. Inside the porch, there are a pair of inner doors that sit under flat arches and are made of planks. Above the doors, there is a single light window with a chamfered surround, and a stringcourse acts as a hoodmould. The outer bays feature 2-light casement windows on the ground floor, which have wedge brick lintels, chamfered surrounds, and returned hoodmoulds, with diamond lights. Above, there are similar single light gabled half dormers.
