Description

Aston Bridge is a road bridge that spans the River Dove and was built in the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed squared sandstone and sandstone ashlar. The bridge features three shallow segmental arches, with the center arch being broader and taller than the others. It has low cut waters and stepped voussoirs. There is a stringcourse at the base of the parapet that has a bold roll moulding. The parapet walls are canted ashlar with copings, and there are paired end piers with a short stretch of walling between them.
