Description
Church House is a house that dates back to the 15th century, with extensions from the 16th century. It features a timber frame that is plastered and weatherboarded, topped with a red plain tile roof that is hipped to the south. The building has two storeys, along with one storey and attics. At the south end, there is a small jettied crosswing from the 16th century. The facade includes a range of three windows with two-light casements and a plain boarded door. There are three gabled dormers that were added in the 19th century. The chimney stack is made of yellow stock brick, while the 16th-century red brick chimney stack has been painted. Inside, much of the original frame remains visible. It seems there was originally a shop bay at the north end, and the two-storey southern bay is part of an incomplete 16th-century rebuild.
