Description

Nos. 53 and 54 on Water Street is a timber-framed and plastered building dating from the 15th to 16th century, topped with a tiled roof. It stands two storeys high, with the upper storey jettied across the entire front, featuring exposed joists supported by curved brackets, carved capitals, and remnants of shafts. The upper storey has a three-window range of modern casements, while the ground storey displays 18th to 19th century windows with glazing bars, likely former small shop windows.
