Description
The Manor House is a 15th-century timber-framed and plastered building located on the south side of Water Street in Lavenham. It underwent significant alterations in the 18th century but was carefully restored in the 20th century to reflect much of its original appearance. The timber-framing is exposed, and the roof is tiled, featuring a ridge chimney stack with two octagonal shafts that have moulded bases. The house has two storeys, with the upper storey originally jettied and later underbuilt with timber-framing. It includes casement windows with leaded lights, and the ground storey features a large window with heavy mullions and a transom. Inside, there are notable features from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries.
