56 and 57 Water Street is a 15th to 16th century building that features a timber frame and plaster exterior, topped with a tiled roof and a ridge chimney stack. The timber framing is visible on the upper storey, which was originally jettied. The building has two storeys, with the ground storey having been extended. It includes modern casement windows with leaded lights.
