Description

12 and 14 Water Street is a late 18th-century building with a plastered front that covers an earlier timber-framed structure. It features a parapet and a wooden modillion cornice. The building is two storeys high and has a three-window range of double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor includes two large modern shop windows with glazing bars and a modern doorway. At the eastern end, there is a small single-storey addition that has one tripartite double-hung sash window with narrow sidelights and a six-panel door topped with a rectangular fanlight, architrave, and cornice. The doorway is accessed by steps from the pavement, which are equipped with an iron handrail.
