It has two storeys, and the upper storey, which was likely originally jettied, features a carved wall plate and is now built in painted brick. The building has two windows on the upper storey, which are double-hung sashes in flush cased frames, with one window containing glazing bars. The ground storey includes a small shop. The roofs are tiled, with No 53 having a 20th-century roof, and there is a central chimney stack with diagonal shafts.
