Description
The Old Post Office is a cottage dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with 18th century and later extensions. It features a timber frame that is rendered, while the later additions are constructed of brick, topped with plain tile roofs. The building has a two-cell lobby entrance plan and is one and a half storeys high. It includes two three-light metal casements and a boarded and glazed door that is sheltered by a canopy. There are two full dormers with small paned casements and a plastered rose in each gable. An axial brick stack is present, with the staircase located behind the stack. There is also a timber framed, brick clad extension to the west. The building was formerly used as the Post Office. A limited inspection of the interior has been conducted.
