Description
Rose Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with later extensions added in the late 18th century and the 1970s. The building has a timber frame that is rendered, with thatch on the south side and plain tiles on the north. It features a two-cell lobby entrance plan and a two-storey extension to the north, along with a T-plan painted brick stack. The cottage is 1½ storeys high and has two 20th-century small paned casement windows. There is a six-panel door beneath a 20th-century porch, leading to an inner glazed door. The exterior also includes two small paned dormers with thatched roofs. Inside, the left-hand cell has an exposed frame, a chamfered beam with lambs tongue stops, and stairs located at the front of the stack. There is a boarded cupboard door with H hinges, as well as two-panel and boarded doors featuring H and strap hinges, although some of these have been introduced.
