Description
Chattisham Hall is a house dating from around 1830, with a possibly older service wing at the rear. It is built of colourwashed brick, featuring a brick plinth and a first-floor band, topped with a hipped slate roof. The building has brick stacks made of both white and red brick and is designed in an L-shape, comprising two storeys and a cellar.
The facade has three bays, each with tripartite sashes that have rendered cills and flat arched heads. The central door is a single leaf designed to resemble a pair, featuring six panels with the upper two being flush. A Doric porch with two columns and two pilasters supports a flat canopy. The eaves are plain and oversailing. On the left side, there are two French windows. At the rear, there is a tall tripartite sash window with a semi-circular head, and the lower rear range has two storeys with three sashes that include glazing bars.
Inside, the ground floor features six-panel doors, while the first floor has four-panel doors. The open string dog-leg staircase has turned balusters, curved brackets at the string ends, and a ramped and wreathed mahogany rail.
