Description
Dairy Farmhouse Cottage (East) and Dairy Farmhouse Cottage (West) are former farmhouses that have been converted into two dwellings. They date back to the 17th century and were heightened and extended in the 18th century. The buildings feature a rendered timber frame that is partly re-faced in brick, with brick extensions and pantiled roofs. They are two storeys high with an attic and have scattered fenestration, primarily consisting of casement windows with horizontal glazing bars. There are two surviving two-light chamfered mullion windows and two gabled dormers with leaded glazing. A two-storeyed 18th-century projecting wing is located at the eastern end of the north facade, while the east gable-end showcases tumbling-in and moulded brick stair lights. The buildings have gable-end stacks and a central axial stack, topped with a shallow-pitched 18th-century roof. Later extensions have been added to the west side and the eastern end of the south facade.
