Description
Hilton Bank Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the 17th century, with a mid-19th century re-facing and extensive additions. The building features a rendered timber frame with painted brick additions and old tile roofs. It has an irregular U-shaped plan with two projecting gabled wings; the left wing consists of two framed bays. The right side has one and a half storeys, while the left side has two storeys and an attic. There is a gabled semi-dormer that is off-centre to the right. The farmhouse has two end stacks on the right, a ridge stack that is off-centre to the right, a central ridge stack on the left wing, and a stack to the left at the rear. The front has an irregular arrangement of windows with glazing bar sashes in a 1:1:1 pattern. Entrances are located at the sides. Inside, the left-hand wing retains a complete timber frame with chamfered beams.
