Description

This is a late 16th-century farmhouse with additions from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is timber-framed with square panels; a queen strut truss is exposed on the north side, a queen post truss on the east side, and the frame is infilled with painted brick. There is a painted brick addition, west-facing weatherboarding, and roofs tiled with old and new tiles. The house is arranged in a ‘T’ shape, with two 16th-century framed bays to the north, a three-bay 17th-century cross wing to the south, and an 18th-century addition set in an angle to the northeast. It has two storeys. Details include a dentil brick eaves cornice on the northeast side, end stacks to the east and north, and a ridge stack on the north wing. The south front features two first-floor, three-light windows and two first-floor, two-light windows, all dating to the 20th century. Below, are two ground-floor, three-light windows and a half-glazed door, positioned off-centre to the left, accompanied by a 20th-century brick, flat-roofed porch.
